FBJ Kids

Our Family Ministry exists to partner with parents as they raise children to honor God, become faithful followers of Jesus, and serve to influence their communities and their world for Christ.

The Family Ministry of First Baptist Jackson strategically engages families and position relationships to help develop authentic faith.

Sunday mornings in FBJ Kids is our foundation for carrying out our #GrowLuke2:52Kids mission!

Meeting Times

  • Sunday School is 9:15–10:15 a.m.
  • Dive In The Hive (Sundays – seasonal) at 6:00 p.m.
  • Midweek (Wednesdays during the school year) at 5:45 p.m.

When You Arrive

FBJ Kids Sunday School is on the fifth floor of the Main Building. After you exit the elevators on the fifth floor, kids check in at the check in station located at the back of the Big Room (just past the Welcome Desk) and then 1st-4th grade kids have a seat in the Big Room, while 5th-6th grade kids head to their room on the north side of the foyer (S501/Orchestra Room)!

What We Do

  • 1st-4th grade kids engage in large group games and are introduced to the Bible story and lesson by video and then engage in commentary with our FBJ Kids host, Bryan Eubank. At 9:30, our 1st-4th grade kids head to their individual grade level classrooms with their Sunday School teachers, where they further discuss and apply the Bible story and lesson through discussion and application activities. At 10:15, parents pick up their children in their classrooms. If parent arrive after 10:15 a.m., children are in the Big Room playing games.
  • 5th-6th grade kids are transitioning to upper elementary school and middle school. Therefore, they meet together in S501/Orchestra room for the full Sunday School time. They also play age-appropriate games, engage in Bible Trivia, have Bible study and discussion, and enjoy weekly brownies prepared by Mr. Al Crawley! This differentiation prepares them for the student ministry and tailors their Sunday School experience to what is best for middle school children!
  • FBJ Kids utilizes Lifeway’s Gospel Project for Kids curriculum on Sunday mornings. Every week, kids will experience the good news of the Gospel through Bible Study that is Christ-Centered, heart-transforming, age-aligned, chronological, theologically rich, and missionally minded. It’s all about Jesus and every story points back to Him. We also utilize Lifeway’s curriculum for our yearly VBS in June.
