Women on Mission (WMU)

Where does your heart beat for missions?

Women on Mission is ongoing missions involvement and learning that extends across the globe.  Women of all ages are invited to participate.

Women on Mission Small Groups

Over 18 small groups meet throughout the month.  Each has a particular missions emphasis and project.  See the current list of groups below, or contact Kasey Shackelford for more information.

The First Tuesday Meeting is a joint meeting of all Women on Mission Groups.

Missions Education

WMU at First Baptist Jackson provides leadership with the following groups:

  • Mission Friends - From babies to kindergartners, Mission Friends provides the building blocks of faith and a basic awareness of God's love for all people.
  • GAs - a missions discipleship organization for girls in grades 1-6.
  • RAs -  a missions discipleship organization for boys in grades 1-6.
  • ACTEENS - a missions organization for girls ages 12–17 or in grades 7–12
Opportunities for Involvement

In addition to Missions Education, many Local, North American, and International mission opportunities exist.

WMU hosts the church-wide International Missions Weekend, promotes the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missions, the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering for North American Missions and the Margaret Lackey State Offering.

Contact our staff and ask how you can get involved.
